Since I have way more to share these days, I’m going to provide little snapshots of class updates, advice for navigating the holiday season, and more!

 

Navigating Holiday Sweet Cravings


On a recent GLOW UP! coaching call, one of our members asked how to navigate sweet cravings now that the holiday season is upon us. Pumpkin spice lattes, apple cider, and sweet cranberry muffins are all around us these days!

FOMO is real, but eating too much of these things can ultimately derail our health and fitness goals.


Navigating Sweet Cravings


Here are my top 2 strategies to navigate the sweet holiday cravings:

  1. If you really crave a holiday dessert, HAVE IT! However, make sure you pair it with whole, nutrient-dense, and minimally processed food to mitigate the “crash-and-burn” effect that sugar has on your body. For example, drink your apple cider with a handful of nuts. Drink your pumpkin spice latte with a bowl of steel-cut oats and fresh fruit. Pairing a not-so-healthy food with healthy food can help create that balance and reduce guilt!
  2. Enjoy the holidays by creating a healthier version of it using Fit Foodie Club recipes! You can satisfy all your cravings guilt-free by simply swapping the not-so-good ingredients with healthier options. Some holiday recipes that are waiting for you include Cranberry Pumpkin Muffins, Healthy Peppermint Mocha, and a Carrot Cake Smoothie!
