News flash: it's not the juice cleanse. It's not the detox. It's not the pill.
I get how tempting it can be. We all want things done like yesterday. Quick results are EXCITING, but they certainly don't last, am I right?
I actually find that the more people fall into these traps, the further they're away from actually getting the results they desire.
👉 The people who actually stick to the boring health habits are those that are more successful. They're the ones who maintain good health pretty much all year round. They never have to "get" ready, they "stay" ready.
If you keep believing that that quick fix thing is going give you that extra push you need, just know it comes with a caveat...and that caveat is what we call the "bounce back effect."
When you restrict yourself for a short (but extreme) period of time, you end up overcompensating on the back end of it, leaving you exactly where you started (or even worse).
👉 It's time to stop relying on quick fixes, and start focusing on the boring unsexy habits!
Here's how you can apply that to your current journey:
Eating whole foods, drinking mostly water, moving daily...these are all things we know we should do, but most people don't do them consistently. These are the "big rocks" that make the biggest difference.
Who you surround yourself with matters. Having a community and mentorship is critical to help you stick to your word. Without it, you'll fall back into excuses.
Stop expecting yourself to be able to change a lifetime of conditioning overnight. If you just focus on small improvements daily, you won't fall into burnout or overwhelm.
A surefire way to fail is to eat or train in a way that sucks the happiness and joy out of you. When you find a way of eating and working out that feeds your body and soul, you'll naturally want to keep doing it...forever.
The real secret to success lies in your consistency to basic boring habits!
